The 3 Doors the Enemy Uses to Re-Enter Your Life After Deliverance

In Part 1, I shared my personal testimony. How a spell was cast on me. How my properties were stolen while I was sleeping. How I could not explain what was happening to me. And how God delivered me through three weapons: filling myself with the Word, declaring scriptures, and praying in tongues.

I promised in that post that Part 2 would cover three things: how negative relationships keep attacks alive, why recurring dreams persist even after prayer, and how to rebuild the spiritual walls around your life.

Today I am going deeper than I planned.

Because the question I hear most often from people who have been through deliverance is not “how do I get free?” They already got free. The question is: “Why did the attack come back?”

You prayed. You fasted. You went through deliverance. You felt the shift. You experienced the breakthrough. For a few weeks, maybe a few months, everything was different. The dreams stopped. The heaviness lifted. The confusion cleared. You thought it was over.

And then it came back.

Jesus addressed this directly:

The Greek word for “empty” is scholazo (σχολάζω), meaning “to be vacant, unoccupied, at leisure.” The demon left. But the house was not filled with anything new. It was empty. Swept clean. Nicely decorated. But empty. And an empty house is an invitation.

The demon did not just return. It brought seven more. The last state was worse than the first.

This is why the attacks keep coming back. Not because deliverance did not work. It worked. But what you did after deliverance determined whether it lasted.

Door 1: The Relationships You Refused to Cut

This is the door most people refuse to close because closing it hurts.

There are people in your life who are connected to the attack. Not because they are evil people. But because the spirit that is attacking you is using them as a channel. Every time you interact with them, the channel reopens. Every time you eat with them, sleep in their house, receive gifts from them, or maintain emotional intimacy with them, the attack regains access.

2 Corinthians 6:14 says, “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”

The Greek word for “yoked together” is heterozugeo (ἑτεροζυγέω), meaning “to be yoked with a different kind.”

It is the image of an ox and a donkey forced to plough the same field with the same yoke. They pull in different directions. They operate at different speeds. They cannot work together without one dragging the other down.

Some of the relationships in your life are unequal yokes. Not because the person is bad. Because the spirit attached to them is bad. And as long as you remain yoked to them, the spirit has a legal passageway back into your life.

A man shared his story on a prayer forum: “I went through deliverance. The attacks stopped. I was free for three months. Then I visited my uncle in the village for Christmas. I ate at his table. I slept in his house. By January, the same nightmares returned. The same financial drain. The same heaviness. My pastor told me my uncle’s house had an altar in the compound. And by staying there and eating there, I reopened the connection.”

Another woman wrote: “I broke up with a man who was involved in the occult. I went through deliverance. I was free. But we stayed friends. We still talked on the phone. We still texted. Within six months, the sleep paralysis came back. The sexual dreams came back. I had to cut him off completely. Not reduce contact. Completely. That was when the freedom became permanent.”

How to close this door: Identify every relationship that is connected to the attack. This requires honest self-examination and prayer. Ask the Holy Spirit: “Who in my life is a channel for the enemy?” The answer may be painful. It may be a family member. A close friend. An ex. A business partner. Whoever it is, you must create distance. Not necessarily hostility. Distance. Reduce contact. Stop eating their food. Stop sleeping in their house. Stop sharing intimate details of your life with them. Pray for them from a distance. But do not stay yoked to them.

Door 2: The Dreams You Never Cancelled

The enemy’s most effective re-entry point is your dream life.

You went through deliverance. The attacks stopped during the day. But the dreams continued. You ate food in the dream. You had sex in the dream. You saw yourself in your old village. You saw dead relatives speaking to you. You saw yourself swimming in dirty water. You saw yourself in a market buying things from strangers.

And you woke up and did nothing about it.

Every evil dream that is not cancelled upon waking becomes a legal document in the spirit realm. It is like a contract that was served to you while you slept. If you do not reject it, your silence is interpreted as acceptance. And the enemy executes the terms of the dream as though you agreed to them.

Job 33:15-16 says, “In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed; Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction.” God seals instruction through dreams. But the enemy also tries to seal his own instructions through dreams. The question is: whose instruction did you accept?

How to close this door: Develop a dream response protocol. Keep a notebook beside your bed. Every time you wake up from a dream, write it down and pray immediately. If the dream was evil (eating food, sexual encounters, being chased, seeing dead relatives, swimming in water, losing teeth, being naked, going back to your old school or village), cancel it with these words:

“I reject this dream. I cancel every assignment behind it. I reverse every evil transaction that took place in my sleep. I plead the blood of Jesus over my dream life. Whatever the enemy deposited, I flush it out by fire. Whatever he stole, I take it back. This dream is null and void. It will not manifest. In Jesus name.”

Do this every single time. Without exception. Until the enemy stops using your dream life as a re-entry point.

Door 3: The Walls You Never Rebuilt

Nehemiah rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem before he rebuilt the city. Why? Because without walls, the city was indefensible. Enemies could walk in anytime. There was no barrier. No protection. No boundary.

Your spiritual life works the same way.

The attack breached your walls. The deliverance removed the enemy. But if you did not rebuild the walls after the enemy left, the breach is still there. The hole in the wall is still open. And the enemy can walk back through it anytime he wants.

Proverbs 25:28 says, “He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.”

The Hebrew word for “broken down” is parats (פָּרַץ), meaning “breached, broken through, burst open.” A breached city has no defence. Anyone can enter. Anything can happen. There is no security.

Your spiritual walls are built with five materials:

Wall 1: Daily Prayer

Not occasional prayer. Daily prayer. Morning and night at minimum. Midnight if you can. Prayer is the alarm system on your walls. It detects threats before they arrive. It alerts heaven before the enemy reaches the gate. A person who prays daily is a person the enemy has to plan around. A person who prays occasionally is a person the enemy attacks at will.

Wall 2: Daily Scripture Declaration

The Word of God is the construction material of your spiritual walls. Psalm 119:11 says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” The Hebrew word for “hid” is tsaphan (צָפַן), meaning “to treasure up, to store, to reserve.” You are not just reading the Word. You are storing it. Building with it. Stacking it brick by brick around your life until the wall is so thick that no arrow can penetrate.

Speak 5 scriptures out loud every morning. Declare them. Not read them silently. Declare them with your voice. Your voice carries authority that your thoughts do not.

Wall 3: Consistent Fasting

Fasting weakens the flesh and strengthens the spirit. When you fast regularly, the enemy cannot gain a foothold through physical appetites. Jesus fasted 40 days before His ministry began. The apostles fasted before making major decisions. Fasting is not punishment. It is reinforcement. It is adding another layer to your wall.

Fast at least once a week. Even a 6 AM to 12 PM fast. Even a liquid fast. Consistency matters more than intensity.

Wall 4: Holy Living

Sin creates cracks in the wall. Every unconfessed sin is a breach the enemy can exploit. Every act of disobedience is a brick removed from the wall. Holiness is not about perfection. It is about accountability. When you sin, confess immediately. Do not let it sit. Do not let it harden. Confess it, repent, and seal the crack before the enemy finds it.

Wall 5: Corporate Fellowship and Covering

You cannot fight alone forever. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Being connected to a local church, a prayer group, or a ministry like this one provides covering that individual prayer cannot. When you are weak, someone prays for you. When you are blind to an attack, someone sees it for you. When you are under siege, reinforcements arrive.
