5 Spiritual Blockages You Did Not Know Existed and How to Remove Them

You prayed.

You prayed hard. You prayed long. You prayed with tears. You prayed with scriptures. You prayed at midnight. You fasted. You declared. You did everything the pastor said. Everything the book said. Everything the prayer guide said.

And nothing changed.

The sickness is still there. The money did not come. The door did not open. The marriage did not improve. The child did not change. The job did not materialize. The court case did not turn. The enemy did not stop.

You are frustrated. Confused. Maybe even angry at God.

And the worst part? Nobody talks about this in church. Everyone shares testimonies of answered prayers. Nobody talks about the prayers that seem to bounce off the ceiling and land back on the floor.

Today I am going to show you 5 spiritual blockages that stop prayers from producing results. These are not the blockages your pastor usually talks about. Some of them will surprise you. Some will convict you. But all of them can be removed.

And once they are removed, the prayers you have been praying for years will begin to produce answers in days.

Blockage 1: Unforgiveness

The Prayer Killer That Hides Behind Justified Anger

This is the most common prayer blocker on earth. And the most deceptive. Because unforgiveness does not feel like sin. It feels like justice.

The person who hurt you deserves your anger. What they did was real. The pain was real. The betrayal was real. And nobody is asking you to pretend it did not happen.

But here is what Jesus said:

Jesus did not say forgive after you pray. He said forgive when you stand praying. Forgiveness is a prerequisite, not a recommendation.

When you hold unforgiveness in your heart, your prayers are not rejected. They are detained. They leave your mouth with power but they hit a wall called “legal ground.” The enemy stands in the courts of heaven and says, “This person has unforgiveness in their heart. Their prayer does not qualify.”

And because unforgiveness gives the enemy legal standing, the prayer is held in processing.

Some of you have been praying for years about a situation that would have been resolved in weeks if you had released the person you are holding hostage in your heart.

How to remove this blockage: Say their name out loud right now. And say, “I forgive [name]. I release them from my heart. I cancel the debt they owe me. And I ask God to bless them.”

You will not feel like doing it. Do it anyway. Forgiveness is not a feeling. It is a legal transaction. Sign the release papers with your mouth and let the courts of heaven process your prayers.

Blockage 2: Unbroken Covenants

The Contracts You Did Not Sign But Are Still Paying For

This is the one that shocks most believers.

You are praying to God for breakthrough. But there is a covenant in your bloodline that is giving the enemy legal authority to block your prayers. And you did not even know it existed.

Covenants are spiritual contracts. Some were made by your parents. Some by your grandparents. Some by ancestors you never met. They dedicated you to an idol. They entered agreements with a deity. They performed rituals that tied your bloodline to a specific spirit. They offered sacrifices that created a legal bond between your family and a demonic entity.

You were not at the table when the contract was signed. But you inherited the terms.

This is why some families have patterns. Poverty that repeats every generation. Marriages that fail at the same stage. Sickness that targets specific ages. Premature death that takes men at 50 or women at 40. These are not coincidences. They are covenant terms being enforced.

How to remove this blockage: Pray this out loud:

“Father, I renounce every covenant that was made on my behalf by my parents, grandparents, and ancestors without my knowledge or consent. Every dedication to an idol. Every agreement with a deity. Every ritual that tied my bloodline to a demonic entity. I break it now by the blood of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus is superior to every other blood that was ever offered. I am redeemed. I am free. The contract is cancelled. In Jesus name.”

Pray this for seven days. Out loud. Especially at midnight. The covenant did not form in one night and it may not break in one night. But seven days of consistent declaration against it will shatter the legal framework completely.

Blockage 3: Praying Without Specificity

God Is Specific. Your Prayers Should Be Too.

This blockage is different from the others. It is not demonic. It is strategic.

Many believers pray vague prayers and wonder why they get vague results.

“God, bless me.” Bless you how? With what? When? Where?

“God, help my situation.” Which situation? What kind of help? What does the breakthrough look like?

“God, open doors.” Which doors? In which area? For what purpose?

Blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the road begging when Jesus walked by. He cried out, “Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me!” Jesus stopped and asked him a question that changed everything:

Jesus knew the man was blind. But He still asked: what do you want Me to do?

Why? Because God responds to specificity.

Bartimaeus did not say, “Just bless me, Lord.” He said, “Lord, that I might receive my sight.” Specific. Clear. Targeted. And Jesus said, “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole.” Instantly, he received his sight.

How to remove this blockage: Before you pray, write down exactly what you are praying for. Not a paragraph. One sentence. “I am praying for the $5,000 I need to pay my rent by March 30.” “I am praying for complete healing of the fibroid the doctor found last Tuesday.” “I am praying for my son Michael to return to church and recommit his life to God.”

Then pray that specific sentence every day until it manifests. Specific prayers produce specific answers.

Blockage 4: Demonic Interception

Your Prayer Was Answered. The Enemy Intercepted the Delivery.

This is the Daniel 10 blockage.

Daniel prayed. God heard the prayer on Day 1. An angel was dispatched with the answer on Day 1. But the angel was blocked by the prince of Persia for 21 days.

Twenty-one days.

For 21 days, Daniel thought his prayer was not working. For 21 days, silence. For 21 days, nothing visible changed. But the entire time, a war was raging in the heavens between God’s angel and a demonic principality.

Your prayer may have already been answered. The angel may already be carrying your package. But there is a principality standing between the dispatch centre and your doorstep, blocking the delivery.

This is why many people quit praying right before the breakthrough arrives. They stop on Day 19 of a 21-day battle. They give up at the edge of the finish line. The enemy held on just long enough for them to lose faith and stop praying. And the moment they stopped, the blockade held.

How to remove this blockage: Do not stop praying. That is it. That is the strategy. When nothing is changing, pray harder. Pray longer. Pray louder. Pray at midnight. Pray with fasting. Add fire to the prayer. The principality will break. The angel will break through. But only if you do not stop.

Pray this: “Father, I command every principality that is intercepting my answered prayer to be removed by the fire of the Holy Ghost. I release warring angels to fight on my behalf. Like Michael came to help Daniel’s angel, send reinforcement right now. The blockade is breaking. My answer is arriving. In Jesus name.”

Blockage 5: Undestroyed Altars

The Altar That Speaks Against You While You Sleep

This is connected to Blockage 2 but it goes deeper.

Covenants are agreements. Altars are the power source behind those agreements.

An altar is a place of spiritual transaction. It is where sacrifices are offered, where dedications are made, and where demonic power is channelled. In the Old Testament, every significant encounter with God involved an altar. Abraham built altars. Jacob built altars. Moses built altars. David built altars.

But the enemy builds altars too.

And if there is a demonic altar speaking against your life, your prayers are being contested at the altar level. You are praying to God at your altar. But the enemy is counter-praying against you at his altar. And as long as both altars are active, there is a war in the heavens over your case.

These altars exist in the physical realm (shrines, groves, rivers, evil trees on family land) and in the spiritual realm (altars built through rituals, blood sacrifices, and dedications).

When Gideon was called by God, the first instruction was not to go fight the Midianites. The first instruction was to tear down his father’s altar to Baal (Judges 6:25-26). God did not release Gideon into his destiny until the altar was destroyed.

The same applies to you. Some of you will not see movement in your prayers until the altar speaking against you is dismantled.

How to remove this blockage: Pray this daily for the next seven days, especially at midnight:

“Father, I command every demonic altar that has been raised against my life, my family, and my destiny to catch fire right now. Every altar in my village. Every altar on my family land. Every altar in the spiritual realm that carries my name, my picture, or my belongings. I release the fire of God upon it. Let the altar burn. Let the priest lose his power. Let the sacrifices be consumed. And let my prayers flow without obstruction to the throne of God. In Jesus name.”

After seven days, you will notice a shift. The atmosphere over your prayers will change. What felt heavy will feel lighter. What felt stuck will begin to move. The altar has been destroyed. And the pipeline is clear.

Remove the Blockages. Watch the Prayers Produce.

Five blockages. Five reasons your prayers have been stalling.

4. I command every principality that has been intercepting my answered prayers to be removed by fire right now. The blockade is breaking. The angel is breaking through. My answers are arriving. In Jesus name.

5. I command every demonic altar speaking against my life to catch fire. The altar is burning. The priest is powerless. The sacrifices are consumed. My prayers flow freely to the throne of God without obstruction. In Jesus name.

6. I declare that every prayer I have ever prayed that was stuck in processing is being released right now. The blockages are removed. The pipeline is clear. The answers are flowing. What took years is happening in days. In Jesus name.

7. My prayer life is unblocked, unclogged, and unrestricted from today. When I pray, heaven hears. When I declare, the earth obeys. When I command, demons flee. There is nothing between my mouth and the throne of God. In Jesus name.
