The Invisible Marriage Destroying Your Relationships, Your Finances, and Your Destiny

You are about to read something that will disturb you. Not because it is fiction. Because it is real. And because it is probably happening to you or someone you know right now.

There are people reading this who have been having sexual encounters in their dreams for years. A man or woman you have never met in the physical world shows up in your sleep, has intercourse with you, and disappears before you wake up. You have been experiencing this and you told nobody because you thought it was just a dream. Or you thought something was wrong with you. Or you were too ashamed to talk about it.

It is not just a dream.

You are married in the spirit realm. And the spouse you did not choose is destroying the life you are trying to build.

Before you dismiss this as superstition or African spirituality, understand this: the concept of spiritual entities having sexual relations with human beings is documented in the Bible, in ancient Jewish literature, in early church writings, and across every continent on earth.

This is not cultural mythology. This is spiritual reality. And it has a biblical foundation that most pastors never teach.

The Biblical Foundation You Were Never Taught

Genesis 6:1-4 is one of the most disturbing passages in the entire Bible. And it is the passage that most churches skip over because they do not know what to do with it.

The phrase “sons of God” in Hebrew is Benei HaElohim (בְּנֵי הָאֱלֹהִים). This exact phrase appears in Job 1:6, Job 2:1, and Job 38:7, and in every instance it refers to spiritual beings, not human men. The Septuagint, the ancient Greek translation of the Old Testament completed around 200 BC, translates this phrase as “angels of God.”

These were not human men marrying human women. These were spiritual entities crossing the boundary between the spirit realm and the physical realm to have sexual relations with human beings.

The offspring of these unions were called Nephilim (הַנְּפִלִים), from the Hebrew root naphal, meaning “to fall.” The fallen ones. The products of a forbidden union between spirit and flesh.

This was so offensive to God that He sent a flood to destroy the entire earth. Read that again. The mingling of spiritual entities with human beings sexually was one of the primary reasons God wiped out civilization.

Now here is what most people miss: Jude 6-7 tells us what happened to these fallen beings.

The phrase “going after strange flesh” in Greek is sarkos heteras (σαρκὸς ἑτέρας). It means pursuing flesh that is different from their own nature. These angelic beings went after human flesh. They crossed a boundary that was never supposed to be crossed.

The leaders of that rebellion are chained in darkness. But their offspring, the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim, and the lower-ranking demons who participated in that agenda, are still operating today. And their primary strategy has not changed: sexual access to human beings through the spirit realm.

In ancient Christian literature, these entities were given specific names. The incubus (from the Latin incubare, meaning “to lie upon”) is the male spirit that attacks women in their sleep. The succubus (from the Latin succubare, meaning “to lie beneath”) is the female spirit that attacks men. St. Augustine himself acknowledged their existence, writing that many credible people had confirmed encounters with these entities.

In Isaiah 34:14, the Hebrew word Lilith (לִּילִית) appears. Many translations render it as “night creature” or “screech owl,” but the root is connected to the Hebrew word layil (night). Ancient Jewish tradition identifies Lilith as a night demon associated with sexual seduction. Whether you accept the specific tradition or not, the scripture acknowledges the existence of a night entity with sexual characteristics.

The Bible is not silent on this. The church is.

7 Signs You Have a Spirit Spouse

Sign 1: Repeated Sexual Dreams with Unknown Partners

This is the most obvious sign. You regularly have dreams where someone you do not know in real life has sexual intercourse with you. The person may or may not have a visible face. The encounter feels intensely real. You may wake up with physical evidence: wetness, soreness, exhaustion, or a strange sense of satisfaction mixed with shame.

These are not normal dreams. Normal sexual dreams are random and infrequent. Spirit spouse encounters are patterned, repeated, and consistent. The same entity returns. Sometimes on specific nights. Sometimes on specific occasions, like the night before something good is about to happen in your life.

A woman shared her experience online: “For years, I would dream of a tall man in white clothes. He would come to my bed, hold me, and have sex with me. I would wake up drained but could never tell anyone. Every time I started dating someone seriously, the dreams would intensify. Three relationships ended within weeks of becoming serious. I did not connect the two until a pastor told me I had a spirit husband.”

A man shared a similar story: “I was having dreams of a beautiful woman. She would appear, we would have sex, and I would wake up wet. This happened two or three times a week. My real relationships never lasted. Women would suddenly lose interest in me after we started getting close. I could not explain it until I understood what a spirit wife was.”

Sign 2: Every Serious Relationship Fails for No Logical Reason

You meet someone good. Everything is going well. Then suddenly, without explanation, the relationship dies. The person loses interest. The person becomes hostile. The person finds someone else. The person simply disappears.

It has happened once. Twice. Five times. Ten times. And you cannot explain why.

The spirit spouse is possessive. It does not share. In the Baule tradition of West Africa, every person is believed to have a spiritual spouse from the other realm, and this spirit spouse is described as a “rival” to the earthly partner. The spirit sees your earthly relationship as a threat to the covenant it has established with you. So it attacks every relationship that has the potential to become permanent.

The attack can be subtle: unexplained arguments, loss of attraction, sudden coldness. Or it can be dramatic: your partner has a dream about you that turns them against you, or they suddenly meet someone else at the exact moment your relationship was about to become official.

One woman wrote: “I have been engaged three times. All three men left. The first one said he suddenly felt ‘something was wrong’ but could not explain what. The second one had a dream about me that made him afraid. The third one met another woman two weeks before our wedding. Three engagements. Three failures. I was 42 years old before I understood why.”

Sign 3: Unexplained Hostility from Your Earthly Spouse

This sign is for people who are already married. Your spouse suddenly becomes hostile, cold, unaffectionate, or repulsed by you. There is no affair. There is no external problem. But your spouse looks at you like a stranger. Like something changed overnight.

In many cases, the spirit spouse attacks the marriage by manipulating the emotions of the earthly partner. It creates an invisible wall between husband and wife. Intimacy dies. Communication breaks down. The love that was once strong becomes a memory.

2 Corinthians 11:2-3 says, “For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted.”

Paul uses the language of marriage to describe the believer’s relationship to Christ. But the enemy also uses the language of marriage. He espouses people to spirit spouses and demands loyalty. And when the person gets married physically, the spirit spouse fights the earthly marriage with jealousy, manipulation, and destruction.

Sign 4: Miscarriages, Infertility, and Reproductive Problems

The spirit spouse does not want you to have children with your earthly partner. Children represent permanence. They represent legacy. They represent a bond that goes beyond emotion. The spirit spouse fights reproduction because reproduction threatens its control.

Women who have spirit husbands often experience repeated miscarriages, unexplained infertility, or complications during pregnancy. Doctors find nothing wrong physically. Every test comes back normal. But the pregnancy will not hold. Or the conception will not happen.

Some women dream of being pregnant in the spirit realm. Some dream of breastfeeding babies that do not exist in real life. Some dream of having children with the spirit entity. These dreams are not symbolic. They are the spirit spouse claiming ownership of the reproductive space.

A woman shared: “I had five miscarriages. Doctors could not find any medical reason. My body was healthy. Every test was normal. But every pregnancy ended. During that same period, I was having dreams of breastfeeding a baby in a beautiful house I had never seen. When I went through deliverance and the spirit husband was broken, I conceived and carried to full term. My son is now 4 years old.”

Sign 5: Financial Stagnation and Mysterious Setbacks

This sign surprises most people because they do not associate spirit spouses with finances. But the connection is direct.

A spirit spouse drains your spiritual energy through sexual encounters in the dream. Energy that should fuel your creativity, your productivity, and your financial growth is stolen every night. You wake up tired, unmotivated, confused, and spiritually weak. Your ability to think clearly, to pursue opportunities aggressively, and to build wealth is crippled.

In many African spiritual traditions, water spirits (marine spirits) are directly connected to wealth. The marine kingdom operates through water bodies, and its agents use financial manipulation as a tool of control. People under the influence of marine spirits may experience cycles of financial rise and fall, where money comes and disappears without explanation.

Hosea 4:12 says, “My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.” The spirit of whoredom (Hebrew: ruach zenunim, רוּחַ זְנוּנִים) is a spirit of sexual perversion that causes people to err, to make wrong decisions, to wander from God’s plan. When this spirit is operating through a spirit spouse, it does not just affect your bed. It affects your bank account.

Sign 6: Hatred of Marriage or Irrational Fear of Commitment

You want to get married. In theory. But every time a relationship gets close to commitment, you feel an overwhelming desire to run. You sabotage it. You find excuses. You create conflict. You convince yourself the person is not right. You delay. You avoid. You freeze.

This is not normal fear of commitment. This is a spirit spouse programming your emotions to reject earthly partnership. The spirit does not want you married because marriage threatens the covenant. So it injects fear, doubt, and confusion every time commitment approaches.

In some cases, the person develops an unexplained hostility toward the concept of marriage itself. They cannot attend weddings without feeling angry or depressed. They cannot watch married couples without feeling a deep, unexplainable resentment. This hostility is not their personality. It is the spirit spouse expressing its rage through their emotions.

Sign 7: Sleep Paralysis and Sensing a Presence in the Room

You wake up in the middle of the night. You cannot move. You cannot speak. You feel a heavy weight on your body, particularly on your chest or your pelvic area. You sense a presence in the room. Sometimes you see a shadow. Sometimes you feel breathing. Sometimes you feel hands touching your body.

Medical science calls this sleep paralysis. And there is a neurological component. But in many cultures around the world, this experience is associated with the visitation of a spirit entity.

In Newfoundland, Canada, they call it “the Old Hag.” In Japan, it is called kanashibari. In Nigeria, it is often connected to spiritual attacks. Across continents, across cultures, across religions, the description is identical: an entity that comes at night, pins you down, and either terrifies you or engages you sexually.

Job 4:13-15 describes this: “In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men, Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up.”

A spirit passed before his face. In the night. During deep sleep. The hair on his body stood up. This is not metaphor. This is a description of a night visitation by a spiritual entity.

How Does a Spirit Spouse Enter Your Life?

Spirit spouses do not just appear randomly. They enter through specific doors. Understanding the door is the first step to closing it.

1. Ancestral dedication. Your parents, grandparents, or ancestors dedicated you to a water spirit, a deity, or an idol before you were born or when you were an infant. Your name may be connected to a deity. Your placenta or umbilical cord may have been offered at a shrine. A covenant was made without your consent, and the spirit spouse was assigned to you at that point.

2. Sexual immorality. Every sexual partner creates a soul tie. When you sleep with someone who is already carrying a spirit spouse, the spirit transfers. Sexual sin opens a door that allows the entity to gain access. Pornography, masturbation, and sexual fantasy also create openings because they invite sexual spirits into your thought life and your dream life.

3. Molestation or sexual abuse. This is painful but true. When a child is sexually abused, the trauma creates a spiritual wound that demons exploit. The spirit that was operating through the abuser can attach to the victim. Many people who were molested as children begin experiencing spirit spouse attacks shortly after puberty.

4. Witchcraft and occult involvement. Visiting a herbalist, a fortune teller, a shrine, or any occult practitioner can open the door. Receiving a “love potion” or charm. Participating in rituals. Using enchanted objects. All of these create covenants that spirit spouses enforce.

5. Generational inheritance. If your mother had a spirit husband, it can transfer to you. If your father had a spirit wife, it can transfer to your sister or daughter. These spirits track bloodlines. They do not retire when one generation dies. They simply move to the next.

How to Break Free Permanently

Breaking free from a spirit spouse is not accomplished by one prayer session. This is a covenant. Covenants require systematic dismantling. You have to identify the covenant, renounce it, divorce the spirit, destroy the materials, close the doors, and rebuild your spiritual walls.

Here is the process:

Step 1: Confess and Repent of Every Known Sexual Sin

Before you can break the covenant, you must close the doors. If the spirit entered through sexual sin, you must repent of every sexual encounter, every pornographic image, every act of masturbation, every ungodly soul tie. Name them before God. Not in general terms. Specifically. “Father, I repent of sleeping with [name]. I repent of watching pornography. I repent of every sexual act that opened the door to this spirit.”

1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” The word “confess” in Greek is homologeo (ὁμολογέω), meaning “to speak the same thing.” You agree with God that it was sin. You do not minimize it. You do not rationalize it. You speak the same thing God speaks about it. And He cleanses you.

Step 2: Renounce Every Ancestral Covenant and Dedication

Pray out loud: “I renounce every dedication made on my behalf to any idol, deity, water spirit, or demonic entity. Every covenant signed with my blood, my placenta, my umbilical cord, or my name, I cancel it by the blood of Jesus. I was dedicated to demons without my consent. Today I dedicate myself to the Lord Jesus Christ. The old covenant is void. The new covenant is in the blood of Jesus.”

Step 3: Divorce the Spirit Spouse

This is the critical step. You must verbally, out loud, with authority, divorce the spirit spouse.

Pray this: “I address every spirit husband and every spirit wife assigned to my life. I divorce you today by the blood of Jesus Christ. I am not your spouse. I reject every ring placed on my finger in the dream. I reject every wedding gown, every wedding ceremony, every marriage certificate issued in the spirit realm. I burn them all by fire. I reject every child born from this union. I withdraw my blood, my sperm, my eggs, and every part of my body deposited on any altar as part of this marriage. The marriage is over. The divorce is final. I belong to Jesus Christ. In Jesus name.”

Step 4: Destroy the Spiritual Materials

In the spirit realm, there are wedding materials connected to this marriage: rings, gowns, certificates, photographs, altars. You destroy them by fire through prayer.

Pray: “I command the fire of God to burn every wedding ring, every wedding gown, every photograph, every certificate, every altar, and every material connected to the spiritual marriage between me and any spirit spouse. Burn them to ashes. Let nothing remain. In Jesus name.”

Step 5: Anoint Yourself with Oil

Anointing oil is a prophetic tool of consecration and separation. When you anoint yourself, you are marking your body as territory that belongs to God. You are placing a boundary that the spirit spouse cannot cross.

Anoint your forehead, your hands, your feet, and your midsection. As you anoint, pray: “I consecrate my body to the Lord Jesus Christ. My body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. No spirit spouse has access to this temple. The oil marks the boundary. Cross it and be consumed by fire.”

The divorce prayer is the beginning, not the end. The spirit will attempt to return. Jesus said in Matthew 12:43-45 that when an unclean spirit goes out of a man, it walks through dry places seeking rest, and if it finds the house empty, it returns with seven more spirits worse than itself.

You must pray warfare prayers for a minimum of 7 consecutive days, especially at midnight. Every night. Without skipping. This is the consolidation period. The spirit is testing whether you are serious. Seven days of fire tells it the divorce is permanent.

3. I burn every wedding ring, wedding gown, wedding certificate, photograph, and material connected to my spiritual marriage. The fire of God consumes them. Nothing remains. In Jesus name.

4. I break every soul tie between me and every sexual partner I have ever had. Every spiritual connection formed through sexual sin is severed by the sword of the Spirit. I am free. In Jesus name.

5. I reject every child conceived in the spirit realm through the activities of a spirit spouse. I abort every spiritual pregnancy. I renounce every spiritual offspring. They are not mine. In Jesus name.

6. I command my dream life to be sealed by the blood of Jesus. Only God has access to my dreams from tonight. Every demonic download is blocked. Every sexual manipulation is terminated. My sleep belongs to God. In Jesus name.

7. I declare that my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost. No unclean spirit has permission to touch, enter, or access my body. I am consecrated. I am set apart. I am untouchable. In Jesus name.

8. I command every spirit spouse that has been blocking my earthly marriage to release its grip right now. My marriage is ordained by God. My spouse is being prepared by God. No demon can stop what God has destined. In Jesus name.

9. I command every spirit of infertility, miscarriage, and reproductive failure caused by a spirit spouse to leave my body right now. My womb is blessed. My seed is blessed. Conception, pregnancy, and delivery are my portion. In Jesus name.

10. I declare Psalm 91 over my night. I dwell in the secret place. He covers me with His feathers. A thousand fall at my side. It does not come near me. Angels keep me. No terror by night. No spirit spouse by night. I sleep in peace and I wake in power. In Jesus name.
